Branches, treetops, bushes and other woody material under 7″ in diameter left over after forest treatment — we haul it, you don't burn it.
Defensible space is the area surrounding a house or other structure where the vegetation and fuels have been modified, thinned or removed to slow or stop fire from reaching the building — giving firefighters a better opportunity to safely and effectively defend the property. Keep it lean, clean and green.
Sloped properties need wider spacing than level ground. Dense stands need wider spacing and higher limbing than sparse ones.
Most healthy adults and children recover from wildfire smoke exposure. Greater risk falls on people with cardiovascular or lung disease, children and teenagers, older adults, pregnant women, outdoor workers and people of lower socioeconomic status.
